Football: The City Game

Northridge at Greeley West, Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m., District 6 Stadium. Both teams are 2–6, and only one leaves with bragging rights.

Northridge has the momentum. The Grizzlies beat Poudre 20–16 last Friday after a rough stretch. West took a 49–12 loss at Frederick and will be looking to end a losing streak in front of a home crowd.

Also Friday: Greeley Central (1–7) plays at Skyview at 7 p.m. after a 22–0 loss at Berthoud.

Soccer: Northridge Is the Real Deal

We named Northridge boys soccer an Up & Comer this month, and they've kept winning. The Grizzlies are 10–2–1 and have won five straight, including 7–0 over Timnath and 3–0 over Greeley Central on Oct. 15. Next up: Windsor on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at District 6 Stadium, a serious test before the postseason.

Greeley West (3–10–1) has won two straight, 2–1 over Roosevelt and 3–0 over Thompson Valley, and plays at Severance on Thursday. Central (6–5–3) hosted Timnath on Tuesday.

Volleyball

Central swept Northridge 3–0 in Saturday's crosstown match. West (7–10) swept Loveland last week and plays at Poudre Thursday.

Softball: Season Wrap

Greeley West had the best season in town at 15–11, with a 16–0 win over Douglas County along the way. Northridge finished 13–13 after a late run that included a 10–0 win over Timnath and a 9–8 win over Loveland. Both played Saturday road games, West at Legend and Northridge at Pueblo West, and neither has another game scheduled. Thanks for a fun first season on our scoreboard.
