It's Election Day. Colorado votes by mail, and every ballot must be received by 7 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 3. A postmark doesn't count. If your ballot is still on the kitchen counter, don't mail it. Drop it off.
Still Need to Vote?
Drop it off: 24-hour drop boxes around Greeley take ballots until 7 p.m. sharp, and no postage is needed. The current list is on the Weld County Clerk & Recorder's elections page.
Vote in person: Voter Service and Polling Centers are open until 7 p.m., including at UNC's Campus Commons and the Weld County Training Center, 1104 H St. You can get a replacement ballot, register, or vote in person there.
In line at 7? Stay in line. If you're in line when polls close, you can still vote.
The Greeley Question: Measure 2F
This is the one only Greeley voters decide. 2F would raise the city's sales and use tax by 0.6%, which is 60 cents on a $100 purchase, with groceries excluded. The city estimates it would raise about $20 million in its first year and run up to 40 years, ending once the listed debts are paid.
The money would go to the downtown Civic Campus, the West Greeley Catalyst project, and parks, pools, playgrounds and trails.
A yes vote puts the tax in place and creates a dedicated funding source for those projects. A no vote means no increase, and the city doesn't get that revenue. Supporters say it pays down committed debt without squeezing police, fire and streets. Opponents point to the 40-year term, the fact that the measure doesn't specify how much goes where, and voters' rejection of Catalyst zoning in February. Our full 2F explainer is here.
The Big Races on Greeley Ballots
Governor: an open seat, because Jared Polis is term-limited. Democrat Phil Weiser faces Republican Victor Marx, with independent Greg Lopez and minor-party candidates also on the ballot.
8th Congressional District: Republican incumbent Gabe Evans faces Democrat Manny Rutinel. It's Colorado's most competitive House seat, and forecasters have rated it a toss-up. Evans won it by less than a point in 2024.
Also statewide: U.S. Senate, attorney general (Democrat Jena Griswold vs. Republican Michael Allen), secretary of state (Democrat Amanda Gonzalez vs. Republican James Wiley), treasurer, and statewide ballot measures.
Weld County: county commissioner seats, sheriff (Steve Reams is term-limited), and other county offices and questions.
When Do We Find Out?
The first results usually post shortly after 7 p.m., when counties release the ballots already counted. Those early numbers are mostly ballots returned before today. Ballots dropped off today get counted through the night and into the next few days, so close races can move.
Weld County posts unofficial results on the Clerk & Recorder's site, and statewide numbers are on the Colorado Secretary of State's site. Military and overseas ballots, plus voters fixing signature problems, can take another week or so. Results aren't official until certification.
GreeAlityTV will have a winners recap Wednesday morning, with Measure 2F up top.
