Circle Next Weekend

Friday and Saturday, September 25–26, is Gotta Get to Greeley weekend — the one where the whole city shows off at once. Hot air balloons in the morning, a beer festival all day, and Bears football at night. If you've been meaning to drag your out-of-town friends here to prove a point, this is the weekend to do it.

Oktobrewfest Turns 54

The 54th Downtown Greeley Oktobrewfest takes over Lincoln Park Friday 5–10 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.–9 p.m. — local craft brews, live bands, German fare, and all-ages activities, with free admission. Fifty-four years running makes this one of the longest-standing traditions downtown has, and it lands in a Lincoln Park that sits at the center of the city's downtown revitalization plans. Go raise a stein in it while it still looks like this.

Balloons and Bears

The Great Aardvark Embark sends hot air balloons up over the city as part of the weekend — set an early alarm, the launch is the good part. Then Saturday evening the UNC Bears host Utah Tech at Nottingham Field, 6 p.m., riding the momentum of their first win of the season. Downtown by day, Nottingham by night, and no admission fee between you and most of it. This is the version of Greeley we keep telling you about.
