Men: One More Year of Reynolds
Steve Smiley's Bears are coming off a 20-win season, and they get a familiar face back: guard Langston Reynolds is returning to Northern Colorado for his final season.
Fans get an early look Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. against Wyoming at Bank of Colorado Arena. The season proper starts with Colorado College on Monday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Circle the big road tests: at Arizona State (Nov. 6) and at BYU (Nov. 18). The Bears spend Thanksgiving week at a tournament in Cancun, opening against Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 24.
The program has announced its home tip times and promotional nights. Check the schedule at uncbears.com before you plan a night out.
Women: Building on a Breakthrough
Kristen Mattio's team went 23–11 (13–5 Big Sky) last season and reached the second round of the WNIT, a big jump from a ninth-place finish the year before. The Bears held their tip-off dinner on Oct. 6. The program added new assistant coaches this summer and signed Mia Galbraith in May.
The opener is at home against Hastings on Nov. 2. Five days later comes the marquee game of the nonconference slate, at Texas on Nov. 7. Home dates follow against Northern New Mexico (Nov. 9), Sam Houston (Nov. 14) and UC Davis (Nov. 16).
We'll be at Bank of Colorado Arena this winter. If you want your Bears hoops photos featured, send them our way.
