Every season someone comes out of nowhere. Here's who we're keeping an eye on in Greeley right now.
Northridge Boys Soccer
We flagged the Grizzlies in September, and they haven't cooled off. Their latest result was a 5–2 win over Roosevelt. They're the team to beat in town this fall.
Girls Flag Football: Year One
Girls flag football is new in District 6 this year, run as a unified team based at Northridge. Players from Central register through Northridge to take part. A first season only happens once, and we want to tell the story of the girls building this program from scratch. Players, coaches and parents, reach out.
Greeley West Softball
The Spartans put up a 12–1 win over Mountain View on Oct. 1. Softball doesn't get Friday-night crowds, but this team is worth a weekday afternoon.
UNC's Sophomore Class
Northern Colorado soccer brought in 12 freshmen and two transfers before last season. Those players are sophomores now, and they're a big reason the Bears beat CSU and won back-to-back road games in September. Watch them in Big Sky play.
New Faces in Bears Hoops
UNC women's basketball signed Mia Galbraith this spring, joining a program coming off a 23-win, WNIT season.
