Greeley was founded in 1870 as a farm colony, and it has run on working hands ever since — in the fields, the packing plants, the dairies, the kitchens, the construction crews. Generations of Latino families and newer immigrant communities didn't just show up for Greeley's growth. They are the growth. They powered the industries this whole region's wealth was built on.
So when nearly half the city gets looked past — when investment flows west while the corridors these families built are left to fend for themselves — that's not an accident of budgeting.
