This Weekend: Oct. 2–4

Friday kicks off with First Friday. Downtown shops, galleries and creative spaces open their doors from 5 p.m. for the monthly art walk. Walk it, then pick your lane for the night:

Ginuwine & Montell Jordan open the Union Colony Civic Center's season Friday at 7:30 p.m., a full night of '90s and 2000s R&B. Yes, you'll hear "Pony." Yes, you'll sing "This Is How We Do It." Down the street, the Moxi Theater goes heavy Friday with Summoner's Circle, IATT and Gravewitch, then flips to arena rock Saturday at 8 p.m. with Project Foreigner and Fire & Ice, a Pat Benatar tribute.

Saturday afternoon, the Bears play at Montana at 2 p.m. Find a TV downtown and make the game your pregame. And since Gallop buses are free through Oct. 8, this is the weekend to skip the parking hunt.

Next Week: Oct. 7–10

Wednesday, Oct. 7: Psychostick and Galactic Empire at the Moxi, 8 p.m. If you've ever wanted to hear the Imperial March played by a metal band in costume, this is your night.
Thursday, Oct. 8: Two comedy options. Lucy Darling: Simply Darling brings comedy, magic and a cocktail-loving socialite to the UCCC at 7:30 p.m., and stand-up Tim Butterly plays the Moxi at 8.
Friday, Oct. 9: Country and Americana with Elijah Scott at the Moxi, 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10: John Crist brings his stand-up to the UCCC at 7 p.m.

The Big Weekend: Oct. 16–17

The UCCC goes back to back. Kansas plays Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. ("Carry On Wayward Son," "Dust in the Wind," five decades of it), and Celtic Thunder follows Saturday at 7 p.m. The same Friday, Raynes and David Wimbish & The Collection play the Moxi at 7. Saturday night the Bears are home against Cal Poly at 6 p.m., so it's a stacked 48 hours. Tickets for UCCC shows are at UCStars or (970) 356-5000.

Eat Your Way Through It: Fork Around & Find Out, Oct. 19–Nov. 1

Friday, Oct. 30, 4–6 p.m.: Trick or Treat Street fills the 8th and 9th Street plazas. Kids collect candy from downtown businesses. Grab a candy map at the Rio Grande corner. Details from the Downtown Greeley DDA.

Halloween itself lands on a Saturday this year. Costume parties, haunted bars, late-night specials: if you're hosting, tell us and we'll add it before the weekend.

Showtimes are from venue and ticketing listings as of Oct. 1. Check with the venue before you head out.
